Media Relation Manager

Purpose

To manage and enhance the company's media relations efforts, ensuring effective communications strategies and strong media relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Media Strategy Implementation: Develop and execute media strategies to achieve company goals and enhance media presence.
  • Media Relations Management: Build and maintain relationships with media contacts and ensure effective communication.
  • Press Materials Creation: Oversee the creation of press releases, media kits, and other materials to promote the company's message.
  • Media Coverage Monitoring: Monitor and analyze media coverage to assess the impact of PR efforts and provide insights.
  • Campaign Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the effectiveness of media campaigns and provide recommendations for improvement.

Other Responsibilities

  • Crisis Communications Support: Assist in managing communications during crises to protect the company's reputation.
  • Event Coordination: Help plan and coordinate media events, press conferences, and interviews.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work with marketing, PR, and other departments to ensure cohesive messaging and strategy.
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior team members and interns.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and reports on media relations activities and campaign results.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong Media Relations Skills: Ability to build and sustain relationships with media contacts and stakeholders.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Proficient in written and verbal communication, including crafting press materials and public speaking.
  • Strategic Thinking: Capability to develop and implement effective media strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze media coverage and campaign performance to inform decision-making.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and media relations efforts effectively.

Experience

  • Years of Experience: 5 years.
  • Industry Niche: Media Relations, Public Relations, Strategic Communications, Brand Management, Media Planning and Buying.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
